1. Sue Martinez says:

Resolution #9 merges three parishes into one, which will give them a combined attendance of about 150. Holy Trinity will be its new name. They used a good model for 3 in 1. I wish them well.

2. TonyinCNY says:

Generally mergers end up smaller than the total of the two (or in this case three) entities entering into the merger.

3. driver8 says:

[blockquote] No person shall be denied access to the discernment process for any ministry, lay or ordained, in this Church because of race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, disabilities or age
[/blockquote]

Could I ask if this canon is generally interpreted as allowing non celibate heterosexuals or homosexuals to enter the discernment process?

Have there been ecclesiastical judgements against clergy when candidates have not been permitted to enter the discernment process due to their lack of celibacy outside the marriage bond?

4. driver8 says:

I should say, as I hope was clear, non celibate and unmarried heterosexuals…

5. Gator says:

“RESOLVED: That this Convention dissents from Resolution B033 of the 75th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, which states
‘Resolved, That the 75th General Convention receive and embrace The Windsor Report’s invitation to engage in a process of healing and reconciliation….’ ”

Odd–They even dissent from the part that calls for healing and reconciliation (even on their terms–as it is currently practiced)!
